Dressing for the occasion; Russian weather, Russian style.
WHAT I’M WEARING:
Hat: via Buffalo Exchange for free after trade (try this) ; Coat: via Goodwill for $30 (try this) ; Blouse: c/o Sheinside ; Leather pants: Abercrombie & Fitch for $19 via TJ Maxx (try this) ; Bag: Aldo- old (try this) ; Booties: Zara for $13 (try this)
I’m not exactly sure when this NYC weather will finally break and we’ll get to experience the spring season but until then, I’m just going to pretend I’m Russian. Pretty fitting as Edward (my photographer) is Russian and I adore him. While he doesn’t speak much English, I know he adores me too…and he probably appreciated shooting this look. At least it makes me feel better to believe he did.
If you’ve read this blog post, then you know by now that I love shopping for free. After getting this real fur hat from Buffalo Exchange, I knew I wanted to match it with a shearling coat- except I didn’t have a shearling coat. And I also didn’t have the money for an authentic one.
Somebody say “but God.”
They opened a new Goodwill store around my job and it is in there that I found this real leather shearling coat for $30. I justified the purchase by selling a pair of shoes for $40; having some money to work with and $6 to spare. (Pay your tithes honey.)
It’s all about smart shopping, folks. All the same, I linked great options above.
See you tomorrow (God willing) for another Testimony Tuesday post!
