Jacket & Skirt: Joe Fresh // Bag & Necklace: Banana Republic // Cardigan: J. Crew (Old) // Blouse: Zara // Loafers: Tod’s (LOVE THIS ONE!!)// Heels: Marc by Marc Jacobs (LOVE this color on Sale!) // Glasses: Wet Seal
Having this crazy obsession with all things printed but like all things, it will come to an end. At this point, you should be familiar with my obsession with Joe Fresh. I was so excited to pick up the last one of this jacket! I can’t believe I found the blue one online for you guys. (To buy or not to buy? That is the question).
Simply can’t commute to work in heels anymore as its taken a serious toll on my shins. I decided to throw on the Tod’s loafers for comfort then change into my gifted Marc Jacobs. Its cold in my office, so I threw on my old J. Crew cardigan for extra warmth.
I feel like I have so much more personality than what’s portrayed on my blog! But I’m working on shooting more of my versatile looks sooo. Please feel free to let me know what you would like to see!
Blouse: Zara // Skirt: Peter Pilotto for Target //Bag: Tory Burch for Target // Shoes: Zara // Watch: Skagen // Nails: O.P.I. “Who the Shrek Are You?”
I’m really annoyed with myself these days. Its as if I’m getting by in life instead of trying to live. Working on organization for the upcoming weeks. Yesterday evening, I met with my girl Vonecia after work and had dinner. I met her a few months back at Heather Lindsey’s speaking engagement in Brooklyn! She is really awesome, check out her blog! She decided to take a few impromptu pics of me at Times Square after dinner; and me being Aunty Christina, I could never pass up an offer to shoot.
Here’s what I wore to work and dinner: Love this chiffon blouse from Zara. It’s quite sheer so I had to wear black under garments on the inside. While I was shopping for a client, I snagged this Peter Pilotto skirt (among other pieces smh) on sale at Target. I plan on restyling this skirt for a more casual look so stay tuned for that! This Tory Burch x Target LUNCH BOX (yes you heard correctly!) was gifted to me on my birthday, along with the matching thermos flask. I carry my lunch in it everyday to work but its mere coincidence that it matched with another Target designer collab piece. I won!
The goal is to have a “Week in my Wardrobe” post this weekend. Pray like Elijah for no rain tomorrow. LOL.
I went shopping and snagged some bits and bobs. I attempted to do a haul video but my camera stopped midway through the video and unfortunately, I am quite busy with school and cannot film another video on time. Pics will do for now!

There is this African print inspired two piece I bought from Zara that is not on their website! If I ever find it online, I will def add it to this post! Hope you enjoyed this! Do like and comment if you would like more of these Shopping Deal posts! I’m the queen of bargain shopping!
On Sunday, I had the honor of being invited to cover a fashion show (Currently editing so stay tuned for that post!). Usually photographers wear all black or dark colored clothing but I did the exact opposite. I wore bold and attention worthy colors. I am not a photographer but I do enjoy taking pictures. I’ll always prefer to be in front of the lens rather than behind it.
As I get older, I accept more and more of who I am. I’m black. I’m Ghanaian. I’m a woman. I’m young. I’m short. The list goes on… It seems like in the past I’ve unconsciously apologized for being myself. “Wear conservative clothes to bring less attention to yourself.” “Keep your hair relaxed, short, and kempt so to avoid people judging you.” “Act more mature to appease your mature audience.” I’m over it all. I just want to be me.
In school, I am currently discussing age discrimination in the workplace. I find it interesting that many associate age discrimination to affect older employees. Well, what about the younger ones? You know, ones like myself, that get told E V E R Y D A Y at work, “When you become an adult, you’ll understand…” Um, so what defines adulthood anyway?? …. Enough of that topic….
Solange has been inspiring me to play with colors and patterns post her big-chop and fashion metamorphosis. I think I did just that in the city on Sunday….
So this is the dress I showed you guys in my fashion haul video. This Joe Fresh dress was around $12! The leopard heeled sandals were my favorite Summer ’13 heels. I bought them from Forever 21 for about $30. Not only are they the most comfortable Forever 21 shoes ever, I always get compliments from men about them.
But heels will be heels. Comfortable or not, you can’t paint the town red for hours in heels without suffering. These leopard Isapera sandals worked perfectly as a substitue. I paired it with my Forever 21 envelope clutch that I bought on sale for about $7. Note to self: if it’s leopard/cheetah or any animal print, really, I’m drawn to it. Maybe it’s the African in me LOL (sorry, that was an ignorant joke).
Attempt a kente turban at your own risk. Not only does it feel like a ton of bricks on your head, but it’ll probably collapse midway through a shoot as shown above. (Try imitation kente cloth for a lighter feel. )
The things people endure to look good…
Try not to gaze too long.
