Aunty Styles Aaron

IMG_2885

Meet Aaron- This past weekend, I helped this fella transform his style to something more appropriate for his choice of work. Aaron is a business owner and realized he should probably put a little more effort in the way he dresses. His style wasn’t the worse I’ve seen but it needed much help. With limited time on our hands, and traveling cross-state, we visited a few shops and picked up 3 pair of shoes and two outfits that fell way under his budget. In the picture above, Aaron is wearing an unidentified shirt, darker than acceptable blue denim and worn-out boat shoes. After the Auntie Christie touch, we have the below looks:IMG_2894

During my time with Aaron, I got a chance to understand the kind of look he was going for and curated some outfit ideas through Polyvore. As a taller gentlemen, I thought it was a good idea to put together a very relaxed look for a Summer BBQ. Aaron is wearing a straw hat from T.J. Maxx with blue and grey detailing on the brim. We opted for a navy blue short sleeved polon that has a Thom Browne inspired red, white, and blue stripe on the inner panel. While the H&M white pants were a little out of Aaron’s comfort zone, he trusted my advice to give it a try. The Argyle socks are Aaron’s; his shoes were one of my picks from DSW.

What do you think of Aaron’s new, cool and casual look? I think arm candy will complete Aaron’s look….Aunties?!? lol

Memorial Day

IMG_2947

Almost 90 degrees on Memorial Day?! Perfect weather to go out and enjoy the sun. What are your plans today?

IMG_2909 I decided to wear this H&M straw hat with a Zara lace slip dress. Although I got a few stares of disapproval from elders, (probably wondering why I didn’t finish dressing up before stepping out) I didn’t care because I felt comfortable! IMG_2934

I decided to top the dress with a Forever 21 floral kimono and Arturo Chiang heeled sandals.
IMG_2935 IMG_2938 IMG_2939 I love this Aldo clutch because of the faux fur flap and gold detailing.IMG_2943

Tribal Prints – Featuring Zara Shorts with Side Frill

IMG_2827

The irony of this statement! “We Eat Deductibles.” If you know my profession, then you’ll understand why. I have no idea why upon seeing this garage gate, I was reminded of a saying we used to use as young kids. “I eat those,” which is a slang statement used usually after someone does or says something violent to you. Ex. You kick me very lightly and I reply by saying “I eat those…” LOL So silly, so memorable.

A few months ago, I was discussing how I thought it strange that society was selling us our culture… and that it was all of a sudden a good thing to be aware of  one’s culture. Here’s a prime example: the recent popularity of african prints. I don’t know who gave these high- end designers the idea to charge ridiculous prices for african prints; I’m not buying it. And neither should you. I am inspired by high-end designer, Stella Jean and her amazing designs but I just can’t get over her price tags. One african print dress is like $800. I almost choked when I saw that..

What I will support are these shorts from Zara. Tribal print and less than $40? I’ll take it! It’s just the perfect blend of pastel and neon colors. I also love the fact the its spandex material and has side frills. My previous post features a floral peplum top that I thought matched perfectly, but realized it doesn’t have the same print pattern. I plan to pair the two on vacation this summer so stay tuned for that!IMG_2850

I first wore these Jeffrey Campbell strappy heels here. These heels are so amazing; not quite ideal for women with large legs. It’ll take about 10 minutes to adjust the buckles to fit the circumference of your leg….LOL
IMG_2828

I paired the look with a NY & Co. white collared shirt, H&M faux leather jacket, and Target mini bag. Clearly by now you’ve realized these sunnies have become my favorites!

“The Spring Collection” featuring Via Spiga Heeled Sandals

IMG_2791

You ever feel like giving up on everything? Well, I’ve been really out of it lately so I’m trying to renew my mind. What I love about photography is its many ways it can illustrate whatever you want it to illustrate. A picture truly can say a thousand words. Or it can simply just be a picture. Anytime I’m in front of a camera, I forget for those few seconds about my current situation and start to think of the message I want to relay to my audience. Its an escape from reality. But we can’t really escape reality forever, can we?

Paul says in Romans 8:18- “The sufferings of this present times are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” I just want to encourage anyone reading to not be consumed with their current situations, for they do not compare to what we’ll soon experience after this life. That’s why its so important to believe in Jesus Christ and what He did for us on the cross.

These suede Via Spiga shoes are my new favorites. But I guess I say that about everything new, huh?
