Tribal Prints – Featuring Zara Shorts with Side Frill

IMG_2827

The irony of this statement! “We Eat Deductibles.” If you know my profession, then you’ll understand why. I have no idea why upon seeing this garage gate, I was reminded of a saying we used to use as young kids. “I eat those,” which is a slang statement used usually after someone does or says something violent to you. Ex. You kick me very lightly and I reply by saying “I eat those…” LOL So silly, so memorable.

A few months ago, I was discussing how I thought it strange that society was selling us our culture… and that it was all of a sudden a good thing to be aware of  one’s culture. Here’s a prime example: the recent popularity of african prints. I don’t know who gave these high- end designers the idea to charge ridiculous prices for african prints; I’m not buying it. And neither should you. I am inspired by high-end designer, Stella Jean and her amazing designs but I just can’t get over her price tags. One african print dress is like $800. I almost choked when I saw that..

What I will support are these shorts from Zara. Tribal print and less than $40? I’ll take it! It’s just the perfect blend of pastel and neon colors. I also love the fact the its spandex material and has side frills. My previous post features a floral peplum top that I thought matched perfectly, but realized it doesn’t have the same print pattern. I plan to pair the two on vacation this summer so stay tuned for that!IMG_2850

I first wore these Jeffrey Campbell strappy heels here. These heels are so amazing; not quite ideal for women with large legs. It’ll take about 10 minutes to adjust the buckles to fit the circumference of your leg….LOL

I paired the look with a NY & Co. white collared shirt, H&M faux leather jacket, and Target mini bag. Clearly by now you’ve realized these sunnies have become my favorites!

“The Spring Collection” featuring Via Spiga Heeled Sandals

IMG_2791

You ever feel like giving up on everything? Well, I’ve been really out of it lately so I’m trying to renew my mind. What I love about photography is its many ways it can illustrate whatever you want it to illustrate. A picture truly can say a thousand words. Or it can simply just be a picture. Anytime I’m in front of a camera, I forget for those few seconds about my current situation and start to think of the message I want to relay to my audience. Its an escape from reality. But we can’t really escape reality forever, can we?

Paul says in Romans 8:18- “The sufferings of this present times are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” I just want to encourage anyone reading to not be consumed with their current situations, for they do not compare to what we’ll soon experience after this life. That’s why its so important to believe in Jesus Christ and what He did for us on the cross.

These suede Via Spiga shoes are my new favorites. But I guess I say that about everything new, huh?

“Stripe Out”- featuring Jeffrey Campbell Matara Sandals

IMG_2695

I went to my favorite restaurant in the whole world- Cheesecake Factory on Saturday which automatically put me in a fabulous mood. It was quite warm out so I decided to go for an almost all white look. This J. Crew top is pretty cool, as the sleeves fold and button up to your preference. I paired it with this striped mesh skirt from a boutique called Dor L’ Dor.
IMG_2694

Can you believe the skirt was on sale for $19.99? It’s such a unique piece, with an exposed zipper trailing down the middle. My bag is from Forever 21.

I love these Jeffrey Campbell Matara Sandals because its unique and patent leather. I got so many compliments when I wore them!

#MyVegasStyle- Lunch at Lemongrass

Lunch at Lemongrass

As I mentioned yesterday in my prior post, I was contacted by the Content Director of Vegas.com to curate outfits for a vacation in Las Vegas at the Aria Resort & Casino. This post is dedicated to a lunch date at Lemongrass. Now if you’re like me, you most likely prefer to be over-dressed than under-dressed. That’s exactly why I love the black and white striped outfit on the left. Stripes, if styled appropriately, can easily turn plain materials into note-worthy clothing. While the norm may be to match similar striped patterns, I’d recommend matching vertical/horizontal and diff. sized stripes. The detailing on the bottom of this skirt alone is enough receive a slew of compliments. Complete the look with Christian Louboutin Pigalles and the magnificent Kate Spade book clutch! If you’ve been following, then you probably noticed this is the second time I’ve featured this clutch. (Looks like a purchase is in order!) This Kate Spade clutch is the perfect Olympia Le-Tan inspired style at a fraction of the cost! I can’t get enough!

Like true Aunty Christina fashion, I ALWAYS overpack when traveling. It’s uncomfortable for me to be away from my closet for extended periods of time as I always second, third, and fourth guess my outfits. To mitigate this, I always pack two completely different looks that compliment each other. Here are two things I am currently loving: boyfriend jeans and cropped tops. I kept the color scheme the same as the first outfit in order to give you more flexibility in deciding outfits. For example, this River Island yellow cropped top could easily be paired with the skirt, and vice versa! you could also swap the Louboutins for the second outfit and blend trendy with chic!

I’d love to hear your thoughts on my outfit picks! Are you the chic or the trendy type? Maybe a blend of both?
