Pastel Shift Dress

I own A LOT of dresses simply because it is so easy for me to just throw one on. I can’t remember the last time I wasn’t rushing out the house to get somewhere. Because of my lack of time management skills, I try to compensate by shopping for quick and easy looks- ie. dresses.

I really wish my eyes weren’t always drawn to dresses. That’s why it wasn’t out of the ordinary to spot this pastel number in Forever 21 a few weeks ago. I love that it appears to be a two piece (cropped top and skirt).

I decided to play on the pastel trend by adding pastel pumps and a pastel statement necklace. I completed the look with subtle cat-eye frames.

Father’s Day Gift Ideas

Father's Day Gift Ideas

As Father’s Day approaches us (less than one week away) I figured some of my Aunties and Uncles may need some help when it comes shopping for our Dads. I think traditionally, men are so much harder to shop for than women because they don’t really require much. Most of my gift ideas are quite simple, because let’s face it the normal dad is simple!

(click on the numbers below to locate the items! )

1// Whether your dad is a business man or a mechanic, a pair of suede tassel loafers is a staple in a man’s wardrobe. Dad can always wear them to events such as weddings, graduations, etc.

2// This camouflage brief case is for the more trendy dad. It’s on sale at Cole Haan!

3//  Sharpen his look with these stellar cuff links. It’s a sure way to differentiate an ordinary man from a man of power.

4// Upgrade his electronic collection with this HD Smart TV. They’re great for Netflix, music playing, and internet browsing.

5//  A man should ALWAYS wear a time piece. This leather Skagen one is perfect for the dad about his business!

6// If he has style, he should own a straw hat. If not, get him this one!

7// Encourage him to get his 6-pack back by running more!

8// Compliment his HD tv with a new couch or lazy boy. (Great for my retired dads)

9// Is he a little hip? He might love these wireless headphones! Beats are soon to be bought by Apple, too!

10// A gift that keeps on giving; getting dad a grill is like getting yourself a grill!

11/ Keep him smelling divine with SpiceBomb. You wont get enough of him after he sprays this on.

12//  You may want to go traditional with a tie. Trend it up with gingham print!

In the end, Father’s Day is really about making our dads feel special! While I do commend women who raise children alone, this day is not about them. If you did not grow up with your father, extend the love to a father-figure or a dad that you have respect for! We need our men to know how much we appreciate them!

How To Style: PVC Skirt

How To Style: PVC Skirt

So I finally received my Missguided PVC skirt and while its not quite the season to rock this style, I am itching to wear it! I’ve come up with a few outfit ideas on how I’ll style the skirt, as I plan to wear it for a few different occasions:

1// I paired the skirt with a baby pink cropped knit sweater. Although this is more of a cold weather look, I think I can get away with it in the night time. To complete this monochromatic look, I added the Valentino Rockstud heels and bag.

2// I love all pastel colors at this point. Two of my favorites, soft pink and mint green, actually compliment each other. I decided to pair the skirt with a cream chiffon blouse and these killer Charlotte Olympia heels. The jeweled clutch from Miss Selfridges (London) brings it all together!

3// The skirt can be very feminine and soft. To add some edge, I’m thinking a black leather jacket, tweed and black Chanel clutch, and killer Giuseppe Zanotti heeled sandals.

4// For a cool casual look, I think a Chambray/denim shirt, these new striped heels from Zara, and a straw hat! I love the  spice this Charlotte Olympia handcuff clutch adds to this effortless look.

Let me know which is your favorite and I’ll recreate the look on the blog! Like and comment if you want me to do a haul/giveaway video. I have soooo many new goodies to show you!

And just when you thought the H&M x Alexander Wang collab would send you to cardiac arrest, this happened! Okay Okay… for the non- fashion enthusiasts, Altuzarra may not ring enough of your bells but here’s why it should. Joseph Altuzarra is a luxury women’s clothing designer who launched his brand in 2008 in New York. Born in Paris to a Chinese- American mother and French father, Altuzarra attended Swathmore College (Big-up PA!!) and then went on to fulfill his passion for fashion by interning for the high end luxe brands, Marc Jacobs and Proenza Schouler. Below are pics from his collection for the Fall ’14 and PF ’14, respectively.

I’ll be honest, I knew nothing of Altuzarra until I saw Rihanna grace the Roc nation pre- grammy event below:

I don’t agree with all of Rih Rih’s looks but this one is hands down my top 5. She served effortless class, and style, intertwined in one look. The Altuzarra/Target collab will hit stores September 2014 so mark your calendars. You’ll be able to snag pieces between $18-$90. Don’t fret, I’ll be sure to remind you one week in advance.
