Pastels on the Playground

Happy Palm Sunday! Yesterday was such a glorious and beautiful day to celebrate my Lord & Personal Savior all while shouting “Hosanna!” We were blessed with 72 degree weather in NYC but I was really uncomfortable and hottttt! I’m thinking I should probably reserve my summer weather excitement…

I’m actually loving the pastel color trend. It’s fun. It’s chic. It’s sexy. It’s bold. It’s everything a girly girl needs! My favorite part about the trend is finding pastel items in my closet I either, didn’t know I had, or just didn’t think I liked very much. An example is this Banana Republic blouse. It’s been in my closet for many years (don’t know how, actually, as I never purchased it) and never worn! Not only is the pastel blue so flattering but the scalloped edges are so in trend right now! Double win for Auntie Christie!

I will be traveling this summer so I decided to start stacking on floppy hats. I actually bought this Forever 21 floppy hat to pair with my new pink Zara heels but it actually worked well with this pastel look!

Meet my girlfriend Isabella! Isabella and I share much more than laughs in common. Not only is she super selfless, but it helps that she’s a fashionista like me! 85% of the time we’re discussing shoes, the other 15% of the time we’re discussing new trends. She is soooo lucky I can’t fit a size 35 shoe! Her shoe collection would’ve been raided by last year. She’s the woman behind the lens many  times. Thank you girl! Love you to pieces!IMG_1865

You’ve seen this Coach bag on Auntie’s blog before. I mentioned how much I used to hate white bags. Clearly not anymore! How cute is the green bow on the handle?

It’s all about DETAILS! Can you believe my earrings were $1??? I bought them from a jewelry store that was going out of business.

Okay, so I had a little too much to eat! So what?! LOL

Top & Bottom: H&M (Pants Here)// Shoes: Zara (Similar Here) // Sunglasses: RayBan (Similar New Wayfarers) // Lippie: MAC Red

Something about the color navy blue and collared shirts that drive me wild. I’m so in love with classic pieces, and for me, collared button-up shirts will always be classic. Hennes &Mauritz  made me smile when they made this shirt. Adding trend (cropped and stripes) to class (button-up) is the perfect way to balance class and trend. What I love about these jogging pants is the silk material going down the sides. It give it that tuxedo feel! Throw on nude heeled sandals, sunnies, and you’re good to go for a quick frozen yogurt date!

The look I give when people ask “Aunty why are you overdressed?”IMG_1577 IMG_1580Dress: She Inside  // Blazer: Thrifted // Shoes: Tory Burch (old) // Bag: Forever 21

Saw this dress on my girlfriend and photographer, Isabella, and I was really loving it. Well she bought me one & surprised me with it so I decided to wear it today with my fave Tory Burch heels- really comfy. I paired the outfit with this bold oversized blazer I scored from the Salvation Army and my Forever 21 bag. Enjoy your weekend!

How to Stretch Leather Shoes Tutorial

Howdy! Here’s how to stretch those leather shoes that haven’t been broken into or that are just too tight!!

Things you’ll need:
-Shoes (Leather, Patent Leather)
– Medium or Large Ziploc Bag. You can also use a heavy duty sandwich bag
-Cup of Water
-Freezer or Deep Freezer
-Rubberband (Optional)

Steps:
1. Take your ziploc bag and place it inside the shoe, ensuring the pointed tip of the ziploc is in the front of the shoe.
2. Fill 1/3 of the bag with water, making sure the inside of the shoe is completely covered with a bag of water. You can add more water if you deem it necessary.
3. Tie a secure not on the ziploc bag or use rubberbands to secure the bags. Repeat steps 1-3 for the other shoe.
4. Place your shoes standing face up in the freezer or deep freezer.
4. Wait until the water in the bag is completely frozen before removing from the freezer.
5. Take your shoes out of the freezer and place it somewhere to allow it to turn back into a liquid form.
6. Once the ziploc bag containing the ice has melted, remove the bag and wipe the shoe down with a cloth of your choice.
7. Tada! Enjoy your comfortable fitting shoe!

I hope this was helpful. I have another haul video that I am editing and plan to upload this weekend so stay tuned. FYI,  I’m still confused about how to increase the quality of the video on youtube. It’s definitely not my camera. Any suggestions?

-Be blessed! Enjoy your weekend!
